ABOVE IS A MAP OF THE STATE OF UTAH. THE AREA SHADED IN GREEN IS THE IS 2ND DISTRCT.
Follow this link for a more detailed map of Salt Lake County: http://www.kued.org/productions/voteutah/voter/SLcounty.html NOTE: You may need to copy and paste the link into a new brower window in order to view the map.
Roughly speaking, the 2nd district covers the east side of Salt Lake County. In the downtown area, the boundary is 700 East until it reaches the Avenues area, where it zigzags through the avenues, eventually taking in the neighborhood behind the Capitol and following Victory Road and Beck Street until the Davis County line. The district line then follows the northern and eastern boundary of Salt Lake County until it reaches Wasatch County. From there, the boundary goes east, taking in Wasatch County but not Summit County, and then takes in the eastern half of Utah starting with Uintah County. Going south in Salt Lake County, the boundary heads west along 2100 South until it reach the the Jordan River, and then basically follows the river to Utah Lake. From there, the district takes in a portion of northern Utah County, including parts of American Fork, Lehi, and all of Alpine, and then goes up American Fork Canyon to the Wasatch County line. The boundary then goes south along county lines until it reaches Wayne County. The district takes in the entire eastern half of the state and the southern third as well. Aside from portions of Salt Lake and Utah counties, the district includes the following counties: Wasatch, Duchesne, Uintah, Daggett, Grand, San Juan, Emery, Wayne, Garfield, Kane, Piute, Iron, and Washington.
SO, HOW CAN YOU HELP? DONATE
First, with this enormous area to cover we will need help getting the word out. Let everyone know that there is a solid, viable 3rd choice in the 2nd District for the 2010 election; they won't be stuck with the same two old choices. Inform your friends and associates, encourage them to visit the website and read the materal, and see how it feels to them. Priority number one is for supporters to simply speak up and say "hey, did you know there is an Independent candidiate running for Matheson's seat? Go check out www.congressmandave.org and see what he is all about." Pretty basic and pretty simple. No pain.
Second, I will need help with expenses. This campaign will be run on a small budget and will be funded ENTIRELY by personal donations. You can contibute anywhere from a dollar on up to the maximum, which I believe is $2,300.00. I encourage any and all small donations and will not spend much time going after big ones. After all one vote counts and each and every vote in this election counts. In a tight 3 person race, it may take only 35% of the vote to win. You can send contributions to "Dave Glissmeyer for Congress" to my home at 250 N. Alta Street, SLC, UT 84103.
Third, invite me out to speak at any group or club meetings you may have coming up. I will he happy to give a short speech, or not, and sit with you to discuss issues and areas of interest. CLICK HERE TO EMAIL ME ABOUT COMING TO A MEETING! Please try to give me as much notice as possible.
Finally, as we move into 2010 you can display a lawn sign or a bumper sticker. If you want me to mail you a bumper sticker when they are available just click here and say "send me a bumper sticker" in the subject line.
We greatly appreciate your help and support!
